The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, also known as NEET, is now just around the corner with the exams being held on May 7 this year. It will only be held in one single phase as opposed to two phases in 2016 following the government’s decision to replace all state PMTs with NEET in order to bring all medical colleges within the radar of one single entrance exam nationwide. This has resulted in an increased number of seats but it has also led to a stiffer competition as the students will now be competing on a pan India level.
A lot of other changes are now being proposed left and right for NEET from different parties and it can get very frustrating and be challenging for the students to cope and adjust. But the crux of the matter is that this exam is competitive and while it may seem tough and intimidating, it is not unbeatable. As it is with almost every competitive exam, the best way to crack NEET is to prepare for it the smart way and not the hard way.
NEET is conducted by the Central Board of School Education and the NEET syllabus is taken from the CBSE Class 11 and 12 courses. This is one of the advantages that a CBSE student has while appearing for NEET. Most of the questions come from NCERT books which cover all basic concepts thoroughly and allow the students to grasp important concepts better and faster. They are in fact among the top and best books for NEET. It is usually advisable that only thoroughly revising NCERT books should a student move on to other study materials. There are so many books available in the market and it can get very confusing if the basics are not yet founded.
