JEE is one of the most important exams for every engineering career aspirant. It’s mainly because the rank in the JEE exams will take them to the dream engineering college and will give a jump start to their engineering career. But for that, you need to practice and work hard to get through the JEE mains and advanced exams. The JEE mains exam will be held for admission to the top government colleges all over India while the JEE advanced exam will be held for admission in all the IITs in India.
The level of competition
The engineering aspirants from all parts of the country will be competing for the JEE mains 2016 for being eligible for the JEE advanced 2016 or get admission in their dream engineering college. The JEE mains exam will be conducted by The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Let us take a look at some of the facts about JEE 2016 which every student must know. JEE mains 2017 eligibility
Educational qualification- For appearing in the JEE mains exam, you need to have passed or may be appearing your 10+2 or any equivalent exam with a minimum of five subjects. The subjects must include the math, physics and chemistry as they are core subjects on which the JEE mains 2016 will be taken. The JEE mains syllabus will comprise of the topics from these subjects. You can apply for JEE mains maximum three times. Anyways, you will be eligible for the exam only if you have passed the 10+2 exams in or after the year 2014.
Age cut off- If you are from general or OBC category, you date of birth must be after 1st of October, 1991 for being eligible for the JEE mains 2016. Anyways, if you have any reservation or belong to the SC or ST category, you will get a relaxation of five years and the cutoff date will be 1st October, 1986. So, the reserved candidate’s date of birth has to be after 1st October, 1986.
JEE mains 2016: exam date, admit card and pattern
The offline phase of the exam will be conducted on 3rd April and the online phase of the exam will be held on 9th and 10th of the same moth. The paper for B tech. will comprise of 90 questions with 30 each from individual subjects math, physics and chemistry. The applicants applying for B arch. Courses will have three different papers from math, aptitude and drawing.
JEE advanced 2016 eligibility
Educational qualification- The JEE advanced cut off is 1, 50,000 in JEE mains. So, you have to come within that rank to qualify for the advanced phase. You must have appeared in your 10+2 or equivalent exam in the years 2015 or 2016 for the first time. You can have a maximum of two consecutive JEE advanced attempts and should not have taken admission after paying the fee or got admission in any IIT cancelled before.
Age criteria- you have to be under twenty-five to apply for the exam.
Exam pattern- the exam will consist of two papers containing objective and numerical questions. The paper1 will have 60 questions and paper two will have 54 questions. The JEE advanced 2016 will be conducted on 22nd May.
Additional help for preparation
- The questions will have negative marking, so don’t go for guessing and attempt if you are completely sure.
- Time is very important factor and don’t spend much time in solving one question in exams.
- Solve JEE mains and JEE advanced 2015 question paper and previous years papers to get a taste of the exam pattern.
- Practice as much as you can as practice brings perfection and JEE needs the best.
- Use the internet for special solving techniques and important notes and explanations.
